Owner/Artist

My name is Kelly Scott. I am a mother, wife, and artist. I have been working with polymer clay since 2006. In 2008, I created my first Pregnant Lady Cake Topper. Though I enjoy making all different works of art with clay, I am the most proud of my pregnant lady cake toppers. I am a proud member and Webmaster of the Greater Atlanta Polymer Clay Guild and the International Polymer Clay Guild. My kids are my biggest fans. I am very lucky to have the support of my family.  I need to give a special thanks to my mother who gave me my inspiration to pick up clay for my first snowman and for taking care of my kids so I can create and have this business.

The Story of the Pregnant Lady Cake Topper

In 2008, my older sister was very pregnant. She would be sitting in our playroom with her 2 year old and my two toddlers and ask if she looked pregnant. Yes, she looked very much pregnant!

I was making a big sister keepsakes and I decided to make a keepsake of her sitting exhausted, with her legs out and arms holding her up. She looked too big and uncomfortable to get up. However, she also looked so happy and beautiful. I showed it off to my family immediately and they fell in love with it too.

My mom was the brilliant one that told me it would make a great  cake topper, since polymer clay is non-toxic and washable. Thus my pregnant lady cake topper was born. I do love saying that! Each topper is original one of a kind. Since 2008, Kelly’s Clay Creations has been most known for the Pregnant Lady Cake Topper.
